Surveillance Training - Foot & Mobile

Overview

This course is open to anyone who wishes to learn basic surveillance skills in foot & mobile surveillance. This course is relevant to front-line officers with absolutely no experience and also as a refresher to those who have worked as case, enforcement and investigating officers for some time.

Skills are taught which are necessary for gathering evidence by covert means and to become a proficient surveillance operator. Within the training course delegates will carry out simulated surveillance exercises. The training is further enhanced with lessons on legal issues in relation to evidence gathering, photography and vehicle tracking.

This training course focuses on giving delegates the skills, knowledge and guidance on how to become an efficient surveillance operative.

Course Content

During the course delegates will learn to:

• Plan foot and mobile surveillance, deciding best fit procedures for the given environment
• Control foot operations by managing communications and positioning, making risk assessments to minimise chance of detection, and ensuring appropriate intelligence gathering
• Direct mobile operations by managing vehicle positioning, movements, threats and compromises
• Address foot and mobile transitional arrangements and delegate appropriately to teams
• Understand the importance of managing surveillance in difficult situations, especially in relation to public transport systems
