Become a qualified Community Advocate

Next term dates and venues announced

The BTEC Level 3 Advanced Award for Community Advocates was launched in 2011 and is delivered through the National Neighbourhood Watch Academy, a partnership between the Neighbourhood and Home Watch Network and the Safety Net Associates Group.

The qualification enables candidates to confidently recognise and understand how they, as community advocates, can influence decision-making processes within Community Partnerships, with Police and Crime Commissioners (PCC) and within their communities.

An emphasis is placed on the legislation underpinning their role within Community Partnerships as well as Government and local policy in respect of how public bodies, such as the police and schools, are required to work alongside voluntary organisations to promote neighbourhood justice and community cohesion.

Tutorial dates, venues or host an event

This qualification can be delivered either locally to your watch or partnership or at the national open programme events published on our website.

As part of Neighbourhood Watch Week 2012 we are pleased to announce two national events to enable individuals engage with the qualification these tutorials will be held on the 5th of December 2012 in London and on the 12th of December 2012 in Leeds.

If these dates or venues are not convenient to you or your watch please contact us on 0845 299 7144 or email learning@cspacademy.ac.uk. We will be arranging regional tutorial days throughout the UK and will base the location of these on those who register their interest.

There will be additional cost savings for regions who are looking to host their own tutorial events please contact us for more details.

Reduced Enrolment Fees

To enable learners access this much needed qualification we have already subsidised the cost to enrol from £795 to just £495 per learner.

In addition to this if you will be funding yourself or are being funded by a charity, voluntary or third sector organisation such as the Neighbourhood and Home Watch Network we will discount the course fees further to include the VAT. This will mean the total payable including VAT will be just £495 (Ordinarily £594 after VAT has been added).

Minister for Crime Prevention and Antisocial Behaviour Reduction Baroness Browning said:
